The 2012 Evil Queen and Her 2020 Life

Okayyyy… A story written by my younger sis, while I took the job of editor…lolz ^o^ She wrote this for her English class, and I got her permission to post it in my blog! >.< I only corrected a few grammar mistakes and changed some words; most credits go to her… A remixed of fairytale and some novels together… The intro was like Domnal Snae Reachny Kompol Chnas, then some elements of  Land Series…. Not so original, but pretty interesting…>.< Man, she took her writing skills after me…lolz

The 2012 Evil Queen and Her 2020 Life

            “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?” asked a girl with blood red lips, rosy cheeks, and long, hazel hair, who was standing in front of a full length mirror that reflected two people .

One of them was the owner of the blood red lips, Yura, the highest rate model with the most outstanding look. She had everything- beauty, money, job, and the perfect boyfriend. Girls looked at her with jealousy. They were either jealous because of her slim figure or because she owns the most handsome guy in the city. Guys drop to their knees upon seeing her beauty.

“You, my queen, are the fairest of them all,” answered Zero, her boyfriend, who was also the second reflection in the mirror. Zero was also a well known model who works alongside Yura for almost two years.

After hearing those words, a smile was brought upon her lips. No one knew what this smile meant. It was a smile filled with happiness and yet there was a touch of evil in it, like a half smile and half smirk. Yura was a straight forward person- saying what was on her mind and never afraid of hurting people’s feelings. Deep, down, inside, people knew that she was kind. They just disliked how she expressed herself. It was too straight forward. They looked up to her because she only has gotten to where she is today through of her hard work. Without her effort, she wouldn’t be this successful. After all, she did live alone without her parents or any family members.

Yura was working on her photo shoot when a new girl arrived. That girl was Yuki. Yuki was a girl who recently took the road of becoming a model. She had skin as white as snow and the hair as black as ebony. People said she was kind and sweet, but to Yura, she was just a cunning girl, who tried to act innocent in order to earn her way into becoming a top model. Only Yura knew about this, because the day that Yuki arrived, she received a letter saying, “Just wait and I’ll take your position away from you.” Of course, when there’s a letter, there is always a present. That present was a chocolate cake with a dead cockroach on it. Yura wasn’t surprised. She was used to having people doing things behind her back because of their jealousy toward her.

The next day, when Yura was with Zero, she asked, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?”

This time, Zero was slow to reply, “Uh, umm, you, my queen, are the fairest one of all.”

“Why did I hear a long pause?”

“You see, now that there is Yuki, it’s kind of hard to…”

Before letting him finish his sentence, Yura kicked him out of her dressing room, saying it’s over between them and then slammed the door shut. “Why can’t they see that she is just pretending to be all sweet and lovely? That girl sure is a good actor,” Yura thought to herself. From the day that Yuki arrived, there was never a day that Yura could work peacefully. She either received food with something dead in it or a bunch of rats in her dressing room. This phenomenon was obvious that it was the work of Yuki, but no one seemed to care, because they were too blinded by Yuki’s beauty. Knowing this, Yura had always showed that she hated Yuki. Whenever Yuki kindly greeted her in front of people, Yura would walk away, knowing that it was a fake act. Yura tried to tell people many times about the true Yuki, but no one believed her. They just said that Yura was getting worried, because Yuki was starting to become famous recently. Maybe this was why Yura got the nickname, Evil Queen, and Yuki became the sweet and innocent Snow White.

One day, as Yura was strolling down the hall, she spotted Yuki smiling mischievously at her. Yura turned away, not wanting to see more of Yuki’s face, only to trip on a shoe, bump into someone, and stumble into a room, causing the person she bumped into to come along with her. Mad about being embarrassed in front of Yuki, Yura turned to the person she bumped into and started to blame him or her.

“You, what are doing there!?” She shouted as she looked up to see Night, a member of the famous boy band, who was supposed to shoot an MV with her today.

“What! How can you blame me when you were the one stumbling onto me and dragging me here with you? Because of you, now I’m going to be late for the photo shoot of my new album!” Night yelled furiously at Yura. The two started to blame each other and began a fight when they turned to walk back out of the room, only to see a huge crowd staring curiously at them.

“Who are they?”

“How in the world did they pop out of nowhere just like that?”

These were the questions that Yura and Night heard. Night’s jaw dropped when he saw everyone in the crowd wearing pink. PINK, the worst color he had ever seen! Yura just glared at the people who stared at them.

“You’ve got to be kidding me! They are all in pink. Are we in some sort of Valentine photo shoot?” Night questioned as he elbowed Yura lightly, “It is nowhere close to Valentine. It is only November.”

“Stop hitting me! You might get a bruise on me. A model must not have bruises.” Yura blamed Night as he sighed annoyingly at her. Somehow, she didn’t seem to notice that they were currently in a strange situation. The door could not be found. There was no way they could get out of the room, which no longer looked like a room. It looked like a totally different world. It was huge and had pink everywhere. The Pink World, as to how Night called it.

A light seemed to flick in Yura’s head, because she suddenly turned to Night, “Uh, where are we again?”

“There they are! The monsters. The evil spirits. They popped out of nowhere like a teleportation. They must be the intruders trying to destroy our world. We must get rid of them quickly.”

Night and Yura turned around as they heard a sound coming from the distance mentioning something about teleportation.

“Teleportation? Where? I didn’t teleportation is possible in 2012. That doesn’t exist,” Yura whispered at Night. Night looked around to see that there was a crowd with weapons running toward them with angry gazes.

“I have no idea what they are talking about, but…they seem to be after us, so run!” Night shouted as he grabbed Yura’s hand and turned around to escape the enraged crowd. Yura was caught in surprised and started to squeal.

“Why are you squealing? We’re supposed to hide. Oh, there! Let’s go in there.”

Night led Yura into a building that looked like a library. “Strange, I’ve never known that there’s a library in the company before,” Night thought to himself.

“You two, do you happen to be the two evil spirits that the people are after?”

Yura spun around and saw an old man sitting at a table with a what-look-like-a-phone, except way more advanced, in his hand.

Night began asking him, “I’m sorry, but may we know where we are? We stumbled into a room and ended up in this pink world.”

“Can you please help us find a way out of here? I need to go back to work,” Yura pleaded with a demanding tone.

“You realized that that was not a tone used for pleading, right?” Night whispered to Yura infuriatingly.

“Shut up!”

“It seems like you, youngsters, are not from this world. Am I right or am I wrong?” The old librarian questioned them.

“You are right, Sir. Do you know a way to get back to the human world?” Night answered as politely as possible, as if afraid to get the old and weary man mad.

“Human world! Such thing only exists in fairytales.”

“Grandpa, you are a fairytale yourself!” Yura uttered out loud.

“Forgive us; something is wrong with her brain. So, please don’t mind her rudeness,” Night told the old man.

“What did you say? Are you saying that I, here, am crazy?” Yura screeched as she pointed to herself.

Ignoring her words, Night turned to the old man and began asking him about the way to get back to the human world.

“Young man, if what you are saying is true; there is only one way to get back to the human world. According to this book, only our king can take you back to your world. No one ever believes this, so it is a new method to us. You have to master this song, a really hard one by the way, and sing it in front of the mirror in the king’s chamber,” the old man told him, while taking out an old, dusty book from the top shelf.

Night took the book and set it on a table to begin reading. Yura paced to the old man who was now at his desk and asked him, “Umm, that thing in your hand. Is it a phone? Where did you buy it? How much is it?” Yura pointed to the what-look-like-a-phone in his hand with eyes filled with hunger.

“This? I got it as a present from my son. You can buy it at the shop down the street. Just a song will do. Wait, they don’t have this in the human world? How can a world in 2020 not have this? ”

“2020!? Wow! But you sing to get a phone? Cool! Thank you,” Yura thanked him as she dashed toward Night who was concentrating on the book.

“Neh, Night. Can you buy me that thing? Please I’ll do anything you want when we get back,” she pleaded.

“Anything? Are you sure?”

“Umm, yes?” Oh man, did I make the right choice? What is with his sly smile?

            “Ha, okay. Why do you need me? You have money, don’t you?”

“You pay with your voice here. Sing a song and they will give you the phone.”

The two started to walk toward the shop and met a girl at the counter.

“Can we buy that phone, please?”

The girl at the counter showed them the song and Night looked terrified after hearing it.

“No way am I going to sing that song. They might think I’m crazy or something. This song is stupid!”

“But you promised me…”

Night cursed himself for having a soft heart and began to sing the song. People, who crossed the store, stopped to look at him. They were amazed by his beautiful voice and his angel-like look. After finishing the song, everyone clapped for him, saying he had the most beautiful voice ever. Yura was caught in surprised because she had never heard his voice, live, before. She looked at him dreamily until she heard a cough near her ears. She turned around to see Night holding two phones.

“Did you sing two songs? Why do you have two phones?”

“Apparently, they’ve never heard of a voice as good as mine, so they gave me two,” Night answered proudly.

Yura rolled her eyes and said, “I guess having two won’t hurt. You can have one.”

“You are wrong. It’s not ‘I’ can have one. It’s ‘I’ give you one.”

Yura turned around and mimicked his voice.

“You!” Night stood there looking at her making a face at him and could not do anything but smile at her childish side.

Night grabbed her hand and led her to the palace. Yura, caught in surprised, began to blush, hard. On their way, they bumped into a boy being bullied and Night ran off to save him. The boy, known as Jiro, thanked Night and offered to invite them over for a dinner. Night and Yura followed Jiro and ended up in a palace, the palace that they were looking for. They soon learned that Jiro was the prince. The prince asked about their lives and where they came from. Not wanting to lie, Yura told Jiro about their encounter in the room and how they were chased by the crowd. She was a straightforward person after all.

“You guys come from a fairytale? Wow. I want to go to your world. You know what? I will help you get to the mirror. I will tell Papa about how you saved me and ask him to let you use the mirror. But, I want you to stay here for tonight. You know, tour around this place for a bit. I will really miss you guys,” Jiro whispered the last sentence softly.

“How about we come to visit you once in a while? I mean, this world seems fun. Everything is so much more advanced,” Night said cheerfully.

“We?”

“Yes, we. I don’t want to come alone.”

Yura turned away to hide her blushing face. Why am I blushing? I can’t be…oh no, I have a boyfriend! Yura, you must stay strong! That night, Jiro took them to visit the king, who showered them with praises and thanks for saving Jiro. Luckily, the king liked them, which made it easier for them to use the mirror. Jiro told the king about the mirror, and the king gladly allowed them to use it, anytime.

The next morning, Night took Yura out on a walk in the town. They seemed to be getting along much better than before. They were having fun, enjoying all the scenery. This world was a lot more advanced. The technologies were high, which was why they liked it. Later that night, Night sang the song in front of the mirror and the mirror opens. Surprisingly, the song wasn’t as hard as it was told to be. The two said good-byes and walked into the mirror, promising to bring Jiro along the next time they visit.

Back at the human world, there were news everywhere about the disappearance of the top model and top singer. When the news reporters saw Night and Yura walking together, they rushed over and showered them with questions.

“Where were you?”

“Why did you disappear together?”

“Miss. Yura, did you cheat on Zero?”

Night led Yura into the building and walked over to his manager. They told their managers that they just accidently bump into each other when they were talking a walk and ended up being kidnapped. Night laughed when their managers believed them and asked if they should report it. Yura told them that since they were okay, they shouldn’t report it. They did not need more news than what they already had.

Later that day, Yura bumped into Zero, who was pleading to get back with her.

“Zero, do you think I didn’t see you holding hand with Yuki down the hall just now?  I’m not a clueless girl you know. We are officially over. Even the reporters know about it. I told them when they thought I was cheating on you.”

Zero became speechless and walked away. After bumping into Zero, she bumped into Yuki, who strolled out of the broadcasting room. “Great, now I bump into her,” Yura thought to herself.

“How do you like the cockroach cake I sent you this morning? Pretty good, huh? Don’t worry, I have more for you. A lot more,” Yuki mocked Yura as they crossed each other.

“Oh, I love it. Honey, did you realize that you microphone is on?” The evil queen smiled at Yuki. Yuki became terrified and ran into the broadcasting room to tell them to delete those words.

“Yuki, I didn’t know Yura was right all along. You are not Snow White. You are the evil witch! I’m sorry, but those words just now are on live broadcast,” the radios VJs told her madly.

Satisfied with Yuki’s outcome, Yura ambled back to her dressing room with a huge smile on her face. She went to the mirror, saying, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?”

Before she can answer that herself, a voice poped up, “You, my queen, is the fairest of them all.”

Yura turned around, shocked to see Night there, grinning widely at her. She became speechless and began smiling stupidly by herself.

“What are you doing here?”

“Well, I come to get my payment. You know, for getting you a phone.”

“Tell me what you want,” she replies disappointingly.

“Let’s go there during the weekend!”

“There? Where is there?”

“The Pink World, of course.”

Yura beamed with delight and waved him good-bye.

“Right, why do you like the mirror so much?”

“Because it shines my beauty,” she answered proudly.

“Prideful as always, Evil Queen,” Night sighed at her.

When the weekend arrived, they walked into the room and went over to the pink world, their own secret world. Reporters were curious to see why they always disappear together and come back together. Zero never bothered Yura again. Yuki, she apologized on the news and was still looking toward becoming as popular as Yura. Jiro, the prince, came to visit once in a while, saying he loved the human world. Night and Yuki usually went to the pink world to buy new advanced technologies, making people wonder where in the world did they get it from. And the rest of the story? Well, you can imagine that by yourself!

Grendel Remix: A Different Perspective

This is from 11 grade, a few months ago… I did a different perspective for Grendel, which is from the mom’s point of view.

                    What She Wished For

            We were once a happy family. A small family of three, living far away from humans. We led a peaceful life, only minded own business. Trying not to involve ourselves in troubles, we never entered into the humans’ territories. We lived happily in our swamp house in the lake; Grendel, his father, and I. Just us three.  That was 30 years ago, when Grendel was nothing but a tiny little monster. But these memories are all like a dream now; a dream that will never happen again. The tragedy  all started when a hunter spotted us in the wood. We tried to escape back to our place, but that hunter was fast. We couldn’t stay out of his sight, no matter how hard we tried. That was when Grendel’s father, Frendel, decided to distracted him so that Grendel and I could escape home. “You two go home first. I’ll catch up soon,” he told us. But those were the last words we ever heard from him, for Frendel never came home that day.

Ever since that fateful day, Grendel holds a grudge against all humans, and he swore to get revenge. He believed that they were the ones who shattered our family. He pledged to never let any of them live with peace to avenge his father. We hid ourselves in our swamp until Grendel was ready to take them down. The night Grendel left for revenge, I secretly followed because I was worried that he would end up like Frendel. He set off to Herot, where men were deeply asleep, not knowing what awaited them. Grendel snatched up 30 men, smashed them into their bed, broke their bones, and gobbled them down himself. This continued for the next couple of nights. The remaining people were terrified; they tried to sleep as far away from Herot as possible. That night, Grendel was burning with grudge and revenge, so he continued doing the same things everything night for 12 long winters.

Everything was perfectly fine until when Grendel came home one night. He was wretched and miserable. His wound was so severe to the point that I almost couldn’t recognize him. His muscles tore and his bones broke. He was beyond recognition. He came home without arms, without claws and without everything else. He was wounded so seriously that he could do nothing else, but to look at me with his sad eyes. “Mother,” he said with a soft voice, “I’m sorry I couldn’t continue to revenge anymore.” His breathing became uneven as he talked. “I won’t be with you anymore. Sorry.” His voice became fainter and fainter until there was none. Grendel, who I thought would live a long happy life, ended with the same fate as his father. One by one, everyone was leaving my side.

My loved ones were gone. Gone from this world because of these ignorant people. Even when the situations came to this point, this human who called himself Beowulf now dares to stand right in front of my face. He, who murdered Grendel, dares to show his face after what happened to my one and only son. Out of rage anger, I carried him to my swamp house under the lake; with his armors, sword and all. On the way back, other monsters follow after him. But he is mine alone. I won’t let any other monsters take the pleasure of finishing him off. Not after what he did; the pleasure is all mine. Beowulf swings his sword, a steel-edges sword with a ringed-mark blade, to my direction. The blow was barely above my head. I tried to stab him in his chest; if it wasn’t for his mail shirt, he’d be long gone. I attempted many times, but they failed to end his dreadful life. Grendel, my son, I’ll avenge for your death. That was when Beowulf spotted my sword hanging on the wall. A heavy sword hammered by giants, strong, and blessed with their magic. It is my prized sword, my most treasured sword. Even I wouldn’t recklessly dare to use it. He swings that sword directly at me when I was distracted. The final blow hit me hard.

Frendel, Grendel, and I would be together again. Our own happy family of three.  Just us three, again. I smile at the thought of it as the darkness closes in.

Annie Upside-Down

This is what I wrote back in 9th grade…The topic was fantasy… So I wrote about a girl who always daydream, and fantasize about her life… Some of the jokes might only apply to my school, for some certain teachers were similar to the story… There also a lot of allusions to many classic fairy tales and mythology…

*You can’t escape your reality through fantasy because in the end, they’re all your imagination and nothing has changed.*

~~~~~
     People say high school life is fun and exciting. I say it’s just plain hard! Nothing about high school is fun, but worries. You see, I’m not exactly the type of girl that boys would be dying to be around, nor the type that gets all the attention. And my studies, well, I’m doing okay with school. But I have to work my head off just to get an average grade. There is one problem, though. History. History class is just scary; it even haunts my dreams! I had to work so hard, and what did I get? Well, my highest grade in history was a C-.
“Annie! Annie… would you like to repeat my last sentence?” Mrs. Bone, my history teacher, suddenly says out loud in the middle of our class. This is her third time saying it in the last 30 minutes.  I must have been drifted away in my dream world, again.
“No,” I mumble in reply.
“No what?”She looks at me with her stern eyes.
“No, ma’am!” I reply reluctantly. “Sorry!” I add just in case she would burst out yelling at me.
“If you don’t want to stay after school for detention and copy a page of a dictionary, you better start paying attention!”She say, but how can I pay attention when I don’t get a word she said? Sometime, I can see two horns on her head with her red bloodshot eyes staring at me. I bet she is way older than the pyramids in Egypt.
Rrring…. saved by the bell. I’m so glad to get out of my class. As usual, the hallway is crowded, but no one seems to notice my existence. But soon, I’ll be finding that I’m so wrong. There is someone, or something, who always finds me standout in the crowd. My absolute nightmare, the bullies. Their leader is a redheaded girl named Clarisse. If you’ve seen what Rumplestilskin looked like, you wouldn’t be too shocked to see her. But she’s worse than that! Looking at her size and appearance, I wouldn’t be surprised if she turns out to be a Cyclops’s cousin. She looks more like a college student that a high school student; bet she’s at least five years older than me.
“Hey, look who’s coming! Isn’t it the weird Annie?” Clarisse says to her fellow worshippers. I’ve tried to ignore her and walk to my locker; big mistake. “Hey, you! I’m talking to you! What? Cat got your tongue, huh?”She yells at me.
“If only my fairy godmother is here, you’re toast!”I mumble.
“What did you say?”
Once, there was a rich girl named Annie. She was the fairest of all; she was really kind and funny. Everyone adored her. She had so many servants at her mansion; one in particular was an ugly, cyclop-like girl named Clarisse. Every day, Clarisse had to do what Annie told her to, no questions.
“Did you just ignore me? Or cat really got your tongue?”Said Clarisse mockingly in the midst of my fantasy. She should at least let me finish it first. She really can be mean in every way….
‘How can I ignore someone like you? You’re like a flying bee buzzing around my ears!”Oops. Where did those words ever coming from? Just me and my stupid big mouth….
“What? How dare you?”Said Clarisse, while pushing me hard against the lockers. I am as helpless as a drowning ant. She leans so close to me that I can almost count every one of her freckles. “If I catch you walking pass me again, you’re a dead meat!”She added with evilness in her voice.
  “Annie, I’ve finally found you!” Said JubJub, my fairy puffball, in excitements as she flies jet-speed toward me.
        “JubJub! I thought you were still in Fairyland!”I’m quite surprised to see her outside of Fairyland, especially at my school. Clarisse and her gang stare in disbelief. They should be scared of me, now. I mean, they have absolutely no idea who they are dealing with. Back in Fairyland, I was one of guidance princesses that were in charge of all the fairies there; I have magic powers. But it doesn’t work outside of Fairyland. Total bummer!
        “You look like you need some help, Princess!”Said JubJub with concern. Then, she turns to Clarisse and her friends, “You guys sure need some magic lessons! Now, which one do you prefer, turning into an ugly frog, or a big, fat caterpillar?”Clarisse’s eyes turn as big as the moon; they look like they’re going to drop out of the sockets. To my surprise, she just starts screaming her head off and runs away. This would really make my day!
“Why are you smiling? You’re not supposed to have fun around here!” Clarisse yells into my ears. This is her second time in five minutes ruining my perfect fantasy. I just keep quiet. “Let’s just go! She’s not fun anymore!”She tells her friends. She has absolutely no idea how glad I am for her to leave me alone.
“Hey, Annie! Are you going to the dance?” These are the first words that Stella, my best friend in the world, whispers to me as I sit in our table for Biology class.
“The dance? I don’t know… maybe!”I whisper back.
“You must go! It’s going to be fun!”She says in excitement, maybe with a little exaggeration in her voice. She has been talking about the dance since forever.
“Why would I want to go? No one asked me to go, yet. I mean, no guy is actually stupid enough to ask me!” I reply with pessimistic.
“What are you talking about? Of course someone will ask you! Cheer up!”
“Yeah, whatever! Unless that person was in a big car accident, and damaged his head!”
“Annie, your prince will bring his white horse searching for you. It’s just that he hasn’t found you, yet!” Stella tries to cheer my dull spirit, but we both know it’s impossible.
“Well, it would be nice if that really happens….”I think to myself.
  Once upon a time, there was a handsome young prince from the Kingdom of Faraway. He would travel wide and far in a search for his true love, but he never came across a fair maiden who would fill his heart. He looked everywhere, from house to house, but each time, he always came out in disappointment. As he was losing hope, he got to a broken, old well. Hopping out of his white horse, he sat on the edge of the well. He looked into the well, and saw an ugly frog. “I couldn’t find my bride-to-be, yet. I’m just an ordinary prince who will never get married.”He told the frog.
        “But yet, your story isn’t half as sad as mine. But I consider us both as the unfortunates,” the frog suddenly told the prince.
        “Are you or are you not a demon-possessed frog?” The prince asked in a shock.
        “No, prince! I was a fair maiden in this land, until my jealous step-mother and her two daughters used a spell to turn me into this unpleasant frog.” The frog told him.
        “What can I do to save you?” The prince asked.
        “I actually don’t know… but legends say a true love kiss would work….”
        The frog suddenly turned into a beautiful girl after that; the prince was amazed by her beauty. It was love at the first sight. They lived happily ever after. The End.
“Well, I hope my life will have a turning point like that! Lucky frog!” I smile to myself. “Someday, someone will see me for the real me….” I gently laugh to myself, but maybe the word gently is the wrong way to describe it because Stella turns to  look at me with a really confused expression.
“Hey! What’s up with those dreamy eyes? You do realize that this is biology, right?” She smiles her usual teasing smile.
“Yeah, duh! I was just thinking about our lesson!” I lie.
“Yeah, right!  I know you well enough to know that you were nowhere close to be paying attention. Come on, what is it this time? A fairy? Unicorn? Or that you suddenly turn into a princess?”
“It was nothing!”I lie again, but my smile cannot escape her watchful eyes.
“Come on, just spill it! I’m your best friend, right?”
“Fine, but not now. Maybe, I’ll tell you after class!”
After I told her, Stella is laughing so hard that I’m not sure if she can stop it. That laugh reminds me so much of the loony tune cartoons. “Come on. It can’t be that funny, is it?”It’s embarrassing. She has such a good sense of humor; it’s always fun to be around her, except when she teases me.
“A frog? You imagined yourself to be a frog? That is way funnier than when you imagined Mrs. Bone as an error talking machine that couldn’t do anything but talk all day!”
“Oh, that! Don’t even mention it; I got in trouble afterward, remember?”
“Yeah, it’s logical! You couldn’t even answer her simple question!”
“Hey, I was a lot more confused than Alice in Wonderland! She was talking so fast, even faster than Cinderella’s fairy god-mother reciting her spell! At that rate, Mrs. Bone could make seven more pumpkin chariots. And her lesson is a millions times more confusing than the Trojan War”.
“I think it’s just you and your wild imaginations!” Stella says matter of fact-ly. “You always let your imagination get in your way! In short words, you’re daydreaming too much!”
“I do not!”I ty to argue, but we both know who is right. “I only daydream when I have nothing to do!”
“If you count paying attention in class as nothing to do, you’re right!” She interrupts.
“Well, that… I was just too distracted….” I was never good at giving good reasons.
“Then, don’t get too distracted. You can’t live by your imaginations, can you?”Stella is always logical. She would have such a hard time figuring things out in Wonderland if she tries to be this logical.
Amazing Adventure
lolz..here is what I wrote back in 8th grade English class…just randomly found it it my hard-drive… Now that I look back, I had quite a lot of grammar mistakes, and the story plot is also pretty shallow…. ^.^
~~~~

The smell of morning woke me up! What a good morning to start! With singing birds outside my window, it surely was a sign of another cheerful day to begin. I hopped out of my soft bed ready to start my day. Suddenly, a loud anxious knock came. “What an early visitor!” I exclaimed. To my surprise, it was my friend, Mia, who had never before started her day right after sunrise.

“Hi, Lila!” Mia exclaimed with a smiling face. But I had known her for so long to know that something was up in her head. “I need your help to find my lost magical necklace! I think I dropped it yesterday on my way to Magic Meadow. But last night, I’ve probably look through every single place, I still couldn’t find it there! You got to help me! With that smart brain of yours, we really have to find it! I’m sure we’ll find it!”

“Wait! Wait! You don’t have to talk that fast! So you lost your bracelet, and couldn’t find it… Then of course, I’ll help you find it!”

“The last time I saw it was here, while I picked wild flowers,” Mia said. The bracelet can’t be anywhere farther!” But it had been proven wrong.

“Excuse me? Did you just say a lost bracelet?” asked a tiny voice behind a pink rose which belonged to a flower fairy.

“Yes! Did you happen to see it?”  Mia excitedly asked.

“It was bright silver with many heart and star charms, right?” the fairy awkwardly replied.

“Oh… you indeed saw mine!!! Where is my little precious treasure now?” Mia asked starting to be impatient.

“I’m sorry! But a talking deer took it yesterday. It was such a price for a trader like Bean the deer. . Magical as it was. If you really want it back, I can take you to Bean. Beside, my name is Flora! Flora the Rose Fairy” said the friendly little fairy.

“Okay…Flora, where does Bean the deer live?” I asked. “It’s okay if he lives nearby. You don’t have to waste your time with us. You can just give us the direction.”

“Oh… it’s really fine. I don’t mind taking you to him. Beside he lives in the Far Fast by the sea. There’d be lots of strange things if you are new to the route,” Flora hesitantly said. “I’ve heard there’re evil giant fire falcons that are always after the travelers, and many more bad things!”

“But I really want it back. I don’t care what lie beyond that forest, I just want my bracelet back!” Mia said, a little too loud.

“If you rally want it back so bad; then we must go!” I said.

“Then what are waiting for? Can we go now?” Mia said, walking away already.

“Mia, wait!” I called after her. “Don’t you want to go back to your place to pack up first?”

“Thank you, Lela! I almost forget about it! I’ve always known you’re a great help!” Mia said with relief. “I can’t stand things without you.” Mia’s voice already started to fade away as she turned straight back home. She had changed a lot, not often before that was she in a hurry.

A few hours later, we found ourselves on a tiny narrow track in the middle of a wilderness which hardly anyone used. With a heavy bag on my back, it was not going to be easy.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” Flora asked sounding a bit terrified.”

“Anything it takes to get my bracelet back! You have no idea how important it is to me. It was magical; luck always seen to be with me every time I wear it!” Mia told us about her magical experiences.

We walked up a mountain when suddenly the sky became dark. A heavy wind started howling and blowing little falling leaves all around us. Huge raindrops also started to pour down. We ran as fast as we could. As for Flora, she was hiding in my bag, because she couldn’t go through strong wind. Looking for a shelter in the wilderness was not easy. By the time we found a little cave, we all were soaked.

“I’mmm….sooo….c..cold!” Mia trembled against her cold; she became so weak after the accident. I could hardly recognize her voice. She lay down on the hard ground, hardly moved an inch. It seemed like she was mumbling to herself in her deep sleep.

“Is Mia any better?” Flora came flying in. She was trying to gather some information about the talking deer. “The storm had washed all of his footprints. But a fairy told me that she saw a talking deer a while ago before the storm. We must hurry to catch up with him!”

“We can’t go without Mia! She’s having a really bad fever! It would take days for her to recover, but we won’t have enough food for that long. Flora, please do something!” I begged the fairy to help us. Mia hadn’t moved an inch since then; Flora was my only hope.

“Lela! Look… I really wanted to help, but I can use my power only for emergency case. Beside, they’re almost gone! I really can’t!” Flora said looking a bit sad. Still looking downward, she said, “But this might help!” Holding her pink gemmed flower necklace from her neck, she put it around Mia’s neck. “This is my magic fairy necklace. It might heal her, but it also depends on her courage. All the rest depends on herself.” Flora explained.

Nothing particularly happened beside the fact that the necklace became bigger and fitted perfectly around Mia’s neck. But no sudden blast of light came from the necklace as I expected. It was almost hopeless when suddenly Mia’s motionless fingers started moving. “Mia! Wake up! Wake up!” I called. “Flora! Did you see that?” I asked excitedly.

“See what?” Mia confusingly asked while trying to get up.

“Mia! You’re alright!” Lela and I gasped at the same time.

“I’m fine! What happened? I remember I rolled down the hill. But I can’t feel anything hurting.

“That’s because you’re wearing Flora’s magic necklace!” I explained.

“Oh, thank you, thank you Flora! You’re a great fairy friend!” exclaimed Mia while trying to give Flora a hug.

“We should leave now since Mia got her strength back. The faster we go, the sooner we’ll catch up with Bean.” Flora said logically.

So we began our long journey as fast as could. Walking through the forest was not that comfortable as I’ve thought. I got a queer feeling that we were being watched by someone or something mysterious, and it was hard because it was on the dark side and we were on the bright side. Suddenly, a high pitched noise came from above our head which beloned to a strange looking bird.

“Run!” Flora shouted. “It’s the giant fire falcon! Run!”

Mia started running and I also started running for my life as well. We ran together not dared to look back but we could feel the bird chasing behind us. Flora was trying to use her magic sand but I guessed it was running short. “Stop chasing after us! You evil giant” I shouted back, but still did not dare to look back. Unfortunately, we ran into a sudden dead end. In front of us was a cliff!

“Stop your evil plan! You evil monster!” Mia shouted; the falcon amazingly stood still.

“Nah… I won’t stop my precious hunt and let my food get away!” That was when I became very surprised. I knew there were a lot of talking deer and horses, but I’ve never known a talking giant fire falcon!

“BOO!” shouted the nasty fire falcon trying to scare us off.

As soon as the falcon shouted, Mia stepped backward causing her to screamed, “Ahhh…Someone help me!!!” She accidentally miss stepped from the cliff and fell off.

“Mia!” I screamed. Without thinking, I jumped down. “Mia!” I kept screaming while I was going down and down the cliff. “Mia! Wait!” I tried to catch her hands, but it was impossible when all the wind was rushing all over my face making it harder to see properly.

“Lela! Mia!” Flora came flying down to us. Waving her hands around us, Flora gave us some of her magic sand. I could no longer feel the rushing wind, but a firm hold which gradually let us down. “I tried my best! The magic sand is almost out! Without it, I can’t fly nor use any magic; I’d be just an ordinary little magicless fairy.”

“It’s okay! We know you tried your best!” Mia tried to comfort the fairy.

“Yeah… beside it was none of your business but you still kindly helped us…” Without even finished my word, I felt a sudden drop. “ Ahhh… what’s happening? Ahhh… Help!” I screamed on the top of my lung.

“Oops! Sorry…!!! The sand just ran out…!” Flora screamed back while she was also falling down and down and down.

“How…do…you…this…go?” Mia screamingly asked me, but the wind cut off some of her words.

“What?”I shouted back hopping she hear it.

“How …far…you…think…go…?” Mia repeated her words, but some were still cut off by the wind.

“I don’t know!” I replied, half shouted, half mumbled to myself.

“Oh my goodness! You’re alive!” was what I heard when I tried to open my eyes.

“Where am I?”I wanted to say, but my voice was nowhere to be found.

“Don’t get up now! You’re badly injured!” said a voice.

I rested as the person directed me. “Where am I? Who is this person talking to me? Where are Mia and Flora? Had something bad happened to them?” a lot of questions seemed to be popping up in my head.

“She’s awake!” the same voice I heard said.

“Oh, really? You better tell her friends the news!” said another voice.

I tried to get up but I collapsed back into the bed. “Excuse me, Sir?” I finally gained back my voice. “Who are you?” I asked looking at a green fat, round creature.

Lela, dear! I am Rumplekiskin the Greeniar. We Greeniar live in this place called Twilightzone. Your friends are waiting for you in the other room. They should be here any minute now!” as soon as Rumplekiskin finished, Mia and Flora came in.

“Lela! We’re glad to know you’re alright!” Mia said happily.

“Thanks to Rumplekiskin who had saved us!” Flora tried to explain the story. She couldn’t fly anymore; poor little Flora.

“Greeniars are always happy  to help others. I heard you are on some kind of an adventure, looking for a charm bracelet. Right? If being so, I’ll provide you foods and water for your journey. But now, do you mind having dinner with us?” Rumplekiskin politely asked.

“We’d be honored.” I replied trying to be polite and proper.

“You see … Twilightzone is a strange place. It has no sunlight, there is only nighttime. So when you travel, you have to recognize some stars. The most important star is the North Star which is the brightest in the sky.” Rumplekiskin told us.

We were packing up for our next stop when Rumplekiskin came telling us, “Keep following the North Star until you see a big cave. The cave, indeed, is magical. I assumed it still is magical. Once you’ve walked through, you’ll see sunlight from the other entrance. So the cave is the gate to Twilightzone.”

We thanked Rumplekiskin for his food and hospitality. When we were ready to set off, Rumplekiskin gave us another bag of food and water. We kept follow the North Star, the brightest of all. After walking for a while which seemed to be mile and miles, we saw a big cave.

“It must be the cave which Rumplekiskin was talking about.” Mia said.

We walked into the complete darkness of the cave. Then, we could see some light in the distance. We did get to see sunlight again after we passed the cave.

“The sea town would be right beyond the hill!” said Flora while sitting on my shoulder.

We walked up the hill. Surely did we see the sea town. The town was a busy town with many trading ships.

“Hurry! Before Bean sell my bracelet!” said Mia, getting impatient again.

Fortunately, Bean hadn’t sold Mia’s magical charm bracelet. “How do I suppose to know that it’s really yours?” Bean asked Mia. Obviously, he didn’t want to give up the bracelet.

“Please believe me! It’s really mine. If it wasn’t my bracelet, I wouldn’t want to come this far just to get it!” replied Mia who looked like she was about to burst out crying.

“Please… she really want it back!” I said, trying to convince Bean the Deer.

“Bean… We have known each other for so long. For the sake of this friendship, may you please return the bracelet back its rightful owner? Pretty please?” Flora begged.

“Okay…okay… I give up! You guys are impossible.” Bean finally said.

“Thank you, thank you! Thanks a million!” Mia burst out, while trying to give the deer a huge hug.
